A newer vessel in the Federation fleet, the Akira Strike Cruiser serves a dual role in the fleet as both a bombardment support cruiser and as a fleet carrier. Equipped with a formidable array of photon torpedo launchers, the Akira operates excellently in support of larger cruisers and can go toe to toe with about any similarly sized enemy warship. The ability to deliver small fighter or armed shuttlecraft into a fray doubles its utility.

I've never actually seen the Akira in action, so I am basing this design off of notes I've found on various websites around the internet. Most people seem to indicate that it is a photon heavy design with additional carrier capacity, so that is how I am depicting this design.
