One of the most common light cruisers in the Klingon fleet, the K'Vort Light Cruiser is a Bird of Prey-type vessel that has slowly been phasing the older D7 and K'T'inga vessels out of service. Larger and more powerful than the smaller Bird of Prey vessels such as the B'rel or D12 classes, the K'Vort is adequate for taking on small enemy ships. It is most common to see K'Vorts operating in wolf pack situations, teaming up to take down larger enemy ships. In this formation they operate with ease.

The K'Vort is the larger version of the ship we see quite often in TNG. Large enough to fight enemy ships equally, the K'Vort is a strong ship, though under-armed for an HCV of its size. The combination of speed and enhanced maneuverability allows it to remain competetive.
